What CutMaster does today
CutMaster gives Claude (and any other MCP host) hands inside DaVinci Resolve. ~240 MCP tools wrap the full Resolve Scripting API; deterministic workflow compounds chain those tools into one-shot editorial actions; Gemini-powered intelligence tools handle frame analysis, color assist, and editorial critique. Plus a four-screen AI editing panel that takes raw or assembled timelines and gives you back a cut.
Three artifacts ship in one Python package:
- MCP server — stdio JSON-RPC, drops into Claude Code / Desktop / Cursor.
- Workflow panel — FastAPI on
127.0.0.1:8765, browser today, Resolve dock at v3-6. - Plugin host — two
pyproject.tomlentry-point groups, third-party-friendly.
What’s next
Real launch posts land here once we have something to say. The hello, world placeholder will go away once the next post ships.
The package itself is moving fast — track CHANGELOG.md on GitHub for releases, or watch the repo. If you want updates without watching, the Notify me form on the homepage captures interest in two specific things — a one-click DaVinci plugin and Resolve free-edition support — and otherwise stays quiet.
Open source, no signup, no analytics beyond Cloudflare Web Analytics (privacy-friendly, no cookie banner). Just use the package.
