Quickstart

Sixty seconds from pip install to Claude making an edit in your real Resolve timeline. For full setup paths (Cursor, Windsurf, the workflow panel, auto-start), see Install.

The 60-second path

  1. Install: pip install cutmaster-ai
  2. Wire it into your MCP client (Claude Desktop / Claude Code / Cursor) — see Install.
  3. Open DaVinci Resolve Studio with any project loaded.
  4. Ask Claude something like "What project is open in DaVinci Resolve?" or "Add a Blue marker at the playhead with the note 'Claude was here'."

The marker prompt is the moment — you've handed Claude the full Resolve Scripting API, it picked the right tool, and the result lands in your real timeline.
